Amortization Schedule

The amortization schedule defines how quickly investment principal is expected to be returned. If an investment has a 5-year amortization term, the investment principal is expected to be returned over the course of that 5 year period. If an investment has a 20-year amortization term, the investment principal is expected to be returned more slowly, at a rate of 20 years.
